The EMIKO Open Stable Package combines two coordinated products for comprehensive stable maintenance using Effective Microorganisms (EM). The Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner is used to thoroughly clean stalls, stable areas, water troughs, and equipment, while EMIKO StallVital is subsequently used for regular fine misting in the stable.
This makes the package ideal for open stables, horse boxes, stable aisles, loose housing, and other areas of horse keeping. The combination of surface cleaning and microbiological misting supports holistic stable hygiene and a pleasant stable climate.
What does the EMIKO Open Stable Package contain?
The current EMIKO Open Stable Package contains:
- 1 liter EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner
- 5 liters EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal StallVital
Both products are based on the proven ORIGINAL EM technology and fulfill different tasks within stable maintenance. The stable cleaner is intended for the targeted cleaning of surfaces, whereas StallVital is used for regular misting of the stable environment.
EM in the open stable – combining cleaning and stable maintenance effectively
In an open stable, bedding, leftover feed, manure, urine, moisture, and various weather influences accumulate daily. Particularly in high-traffic areas, this can lead to unpleasant odors and unfavorable microbial processes.
The EMIKO Open Stable Package with Effective Microorganisms therefore combines two different applications: mechanical or surface-related cleaning with the stable cleaner and subsequent microbiological care of the stable environment with StallVital.

1. EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner
The EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner was developed for thorough surface cleaning in the horse stable. The fermented formula containing Effective Microorganisms is supplemented by saline solution, soap nut extract, and lemongrass and lemon oil.
The stable cleaner dissolves dirt and organic deposits and is suitable for, among other things:
- Horse boxes
- Stable aisles
- Concrete floors and wooden walls
- Partition walls and grids
- Water troughs and feed mangers
- Paddocks and outdoor areas
- Wash stalls
- Grooming tools and boots
- Saddle cabinets and other stable accessories
Stable cleaner for regular cleaning
For normal or regular cleaning, the stable cleaner is diluted with water at a ratio of 1:10. For example, 100 ml of cleaner is mixed with 1 liter of water and distributed over the relevant surfaces.
According to the manufacturer, no subsequent rinsing is required for this application.
Heavy soiling and deep cleaning
In cases of heavy soiling, the stable cleaner can be used neat or at a ratio of 1:5. Allow the solution to act for about 10 to 30 minutes and then brush off or rinse.
The water used should be a maximum of 40 °C so that the microorganisms contained are not compromised.
2. EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal StallVital
EMIKO StallVital is used after or to complement surface cleaning. StallVital was specially developed for fine misting in the stable.
The fermented liquid contains living lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, and yeasts. Through regular misting, the microorganisms are distributed on surfaces and within the stable environment.
Correct application of StallVital
EMIKO StallVital is used neat and undiluted. Cold foggers, ULV foggers, misting systems, or pressure sprayers with a sufficiently fine nozzle are suitable for application.
According to EMIKO, the recommended standard application rate is approximately 2 liters of StallVital per 100 m² of stable area per week. In the event of strong odors, the application can be carried out more frequently as required.
EM against unpleasant odors in the open stable
Odors occur in the stable particularly where organic material such as manure, urine, bedding, and leftover feed is broken down. The goal of regular stable maintenance with Effective Microorganisms is to positively influence the microbial environment in these areas.
The stable cleaner removes dirt and organic deposits from surfaces. StallVital complements this cleaning by regularly distributing living microorganisms in the stable.
According to EMIKO, regular application can help to reduce unpleasant stable, ammonia, and putrefaction odors.
EMIKO Open Stable Package during fly season
Especially in spring and summer, many horse owners are concerned about flies in the open stable and horse stable. Damp, odor-intensive, and organically contaminated areas can offer attractive conditions for flies.
The combination of regular cleaning and microbiological stable care is therefore particularly interesting during the warmer months. EMIKO describes both the stable cleaner and StallVital as components of a comprehensive stable maintenance concept to support a pleasant stable environment and reduce fly nuisance.
How do I use the EMIKO Open Stable Package?
Step 1: Clean the stable and surfaces
First, remove coarse dirt, manure, and heavily soiled bedding. Then treat boxes, walkways, and other suitable surfaces with the EMIKO Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner.
A dilution of 1:10 is generally sufficient for regular cleaning. For stubborn dirt, a higher concentration or neat product can be used.
Step 2: Fine misting with StallVital
After cleaning or regularly between cleaning intervals, StallVital is misted into the stable undiluted.
This distributes the Effective Microorganisms over a large area in the stable environment. The application can also be carried out while the stable is occupied.
Step 3: Apply regularly
Regular application is crucial for EM stable maintenance. Depending on the level of soiling, the stable cleaner can be used one or more times per week. As a standard application, StallVital is misted at around 2 liters per 100 m² per week.
Which types of stables is the open stable package suitable for?
The package is suitable for, among others:
- Open stables
- Horse boxes
- Loose housing
- Active stables
- Stable aisles
- Paddocks and outdoor areas
- Riding arenas
- Wash and grooming stalls
What is the difference between Stable Cleaner and StallVital?
Stable Cleaner = Surface cleaning
The Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner was developed specifically to dissolve and remove dirt and organic deposits. It is used diluted or, in cases of heavier soiling, concentrated directly on surfaces.
The stable cleaner is not intended for fine misting of the stable space.
StallVital = regular misting
StallVital, on the other hand, was explicitly developed for fine misting. It is used neat and distributes living Effective Microorganisms over a large area within the stable environment.
It is precisely these different tasks that make the combination in the EMIKO Open Stable Package so effective.
Which Effective Microorganisms are contained?
StallVital contains a fermented mixture of living microorganisms. These include:
- Lactic acid bacteria
- Photosynthetic bacteria
- Yeasts
The Pet & Farm Animal Stable Cleaner is also based on a fermented recipe with Effective Microorganisms and additionally contains, among other things, vinegar, alcohol, saline solution, soap nut extract, lemongrass oil, and lemon oil.
